Children's movies
Children's films and movies for kids are an excellent way for them to have a good time, have fun, and learn. Learn? Yes, movies, the same as television or books, impart things to kids: values, thoughts, forms of behavior... Therefore we should be very careful when the time comes to choose movies that are good for kids.
Many of you think that cartoon films are the best alternative for children as they are entertaining and they do not teach anything bad. We should comment on this generalization. It is true that many cartoon movies are instructional and don't contain bad things, but not all of them.
Therefore, it is good to be informed beforehand on movies. If it is a movie in theaters, you can read different critics, trying to learn a movie's plot, the protagonists... this information will give you a good idea of whether the movie is advisable.

However, there is other information we want to point out about the generalization that the best movies for kids are cartoons. Think that when we talk about childhood, we are talking about a wide range of ages. Many of these ages are already almost adolescent and they may no longer like cartoons.
For non-cartoon movies, the previous advice serves perfectly. You can inform yourself on the content of the movie: the plot, characters, environment...all this we already said will give you an idea of the film. Also, there is a classification for ages that will also help you to decide if this film is appropriate or not for your child. If, after all this, you are still in doubt, always watch the movie first.
But, what should a movie contain to be appropriate for our kids? The classifications of the State mentioned before are based on a criteria where the movie does not contain drugs, sex, violence or adult language in order to be classified. But we have to look for other information.
Obviously, we should keep in mind the child's age, but as a general rule we should look for movies that impart values to our children. Movies that have protagonists that are not discriminatory, that show healthy initiatives, etc.
